There are a lot of still-functional racetracks, be they oval or roadcourses, around America that we could do Oppo Track Days at. Maybe even hold contests for different categories of cars, like “Best In Show”, and “Best in Performance”, and so on.
As for the track itself, we could probably have an “open track” time period for most of the day, and then do time attack runs towards the end of the track day.
What do you think? We need something like this, maybe?

Maybe set up as an area Oppo event. If a track day is local to me, I’m always up for it.

So, some thoughts...
Tracks are expensive to rent, I know some of them out there go for $30,000 per day. Sure, there’s cheaper ones too, but that’s something to needs to be considered. How much are people willing to pay?
Letting people just drive on an open track is... sketchy. Are you going to find and have instructors available? Separate run groups for skill level? How will you verify that people have the driving experience they claim?
Timing equipment for time attack. I know of exactly one track that would rent their set up. Otherwise you’ll be on your own.
Time attack means that people need much higher levels of safety equipment and driving skills. Again, vetting process needs to be put into place and a higher level of tech inspections done.
In short, the easiest thing would be to find an existing track day that offers all of this, except for the time attack. That’s much harder to find. Don’t suggest Gridlife, it’s all sold out. Anyways, find an existing track day that’s being put on be people who have experience. Tell all the Oppps to sign up and be there. Much easier.

I agree with this. It’d be great to talk to a company that already runs this and reserve spaces for us.

Yeah, maybe as the weather improves we could have a Metro Vancouver and upper Washington go kart day

I have a pretty busy May but if I’m around I’m definitely down to check that place out(ski season is coming to a close so I’ll need to find a new adrenaline fix anyway)
